Overview

We are on the lookout for a proficient Mobile Network Solutions Engineer to become a part of our vibrant team. This role focuses on designing and deploying custom mobile network solutions for major corporate clients. The position is crucial in aiding our sales team with technical insights and inventive network designs that fulfill the unique requirements of each client, including renowned names like Telus, Suncor, and Shell.

Responsibilities

•  Design and Development: Develop comprehensive low-level designs for both public and private mobile network implementations, ensuring alignment with the technical requirements and business objectives of large enterprise clients.
• Technical Sales Support: Support the sales team during technical presentations and discussions, translating intricate network engineering concepts into comprehensible solutions for prospective clients and addressing their specific challenges.
• Project Management: Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to guarantee the timely delivery of network implementation projects, overseeing the installation and initial troubleshooting of new network deployments.
• Client Interaction: Directly engage with clients to collect technical requirements and offer consultative support regarding network architecture and capabilities.
• Documentation: Produce thorough documentation to support the sales process, including design specifications, network diagrams, and implementation guides.
• Continuous Learning: Keep abreast of the latest technologies and advancements in mobile networking to continuously enhance the solutions offered to clients.

Requirements:

• Expertise in designing private and public mobile network cell towers utilizing on-premise, vRAN, and Cloud RAN.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on cellular technologies such as 5G, LTE, HSPA+/WCDMA, including PHY/MAC, signaling, call processing concepts, and upper layers.
• Comprehensive knowledge of GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, CDMA, HSPA, LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, mobile phone software architecture, and telecommunication network configuration.
• Preferred experience in log analysis and issue troubleshooting from the field for UMTS/GSM CS, PS calls, LTE/5G Data calls, and metric tests. Familiarity with logging/analysis tools such as QXDM, QPST, Shannon DM, XCAL, and XCAP.
• Experience with Transport Layer protocols such as TCP and UDP, and analysis tools like Wireshark.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for creating test reports.
• Knowledge of general network protocols and wireless technologies – 5G, LTE, GSM, CDMA.
• Understanding of TCP/UDP, IP Packet, and OSI Protocol Model.
• Strong skills in designing and implementing both public and private mobile networks.
• Competence in network simulation and modeling tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, capable of clearly explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel as necessary to meet with clients and supervise network deployments.
