DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team in Novi Sad. You will play an important role in building, automating, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure behind a modern platform used by automotive companies to validate and improve Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

You will work across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, containerization, automation, and system administration, helping ensure reliable deployments, scalable environments, and efficient engineering workflows.

Working closely with software engineers, QA, and engineering leadership, you will contribute to improving development processes, supporting releases, maintaining infrastructure reliability, and resolving operational challenges. The role also includes a smaller portion of internal IT and systems administration responsibilities.

This position is well suited to someone who enjoys automation, cloud technologies, infrastructure optimization, and continuous improvement in a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Deploy, configure, and operate applications and microservices across development, staging, and production environments.
• Manage, maintain, and optimize AWS infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, security, and IAM.
• Support Kubernetes workloads and containerized applications using Docker.
• Automate recurring operational tasks using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Participate in software release planning and execution, ensuring smooth and reliable deployments.
• Monitor infrastructure and platform health, troubleshoot issues, and proactively improve system reliability and performance.
• Work closely with engineering teams to improve development workflows and operational efficiency.
• Maintain engineering infrastructure, including internal services, development servers, and cloud-hosted tools.
• Provide occasional support for office IT infrastructure, including workstations, networking, and basic system administration.
• Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation and contribute to operational standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, IAM, and key management.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience developing automation scripts using Bash, Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Good understanding of infrastructure automation and cloud-native deployment practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and fluent English.
• Proactive approach and a strong interest in learning and continuous improvement.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience working with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms.
• Understanding of networking concepts including VPCs, VPNs, load balancing, DNS, and firewalls.
• Experience with tools such as GitLab Runner, Mattermost, PostHog, or similar engineering platforms.
• Basic experience administering Windows and macOS environments.
• Interest in cybersecurity, cloud security, and infrastructure reliability.
• Previous experience working in Agile software development environments.
