🚀 Java Architect / Principal Backend Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Java Architect / Principal Backend Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems powering critical financial platforms.

This role is ideal for a senior engineering professional who enjoys working at the intersection of software architecture, hands-on development, and business alignment, with deep expertise in Java, microservices, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and event-driven architectures.

🎯 What You Will Be Doing

• Architect and design scalable, high-performance backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture
• Drive Domain-Driven Design (DDD) practices to align technology solutions with business capabilities
• Design and implement event-driven systems, APIs, and distributed services for financial platforms
• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions
• Define and enforce architecture standards, best practices, and design patterns
• Ensure system reliability, performance, security, and scalability
• Lead technical discussions, code reviews, architecture reviews, and engineering governance activities
• Optimize systems for low latency and high throughput, supporting mission-critical transaction processing
• Work closely with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD, observability, and cloud readiness
• Support production systems, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and drive continuous improvements

🛠️ What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in backend software development with strong expertise in Java
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Java and Spring Boot / Spring Framework
  • Microservices architecture
  • REST APIs and event-driven systems
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles
• Experience designing and building distributed systems in high-availability environments
• Solid understanding of:
  • Data modeling and database design (SQL / NoSQL)
  • Messaging systems (Kafka, MQ, or similar technologies)
• Proven experience with system design, architecture decisions, and performance optimization
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders

• Experience in Capital Markets, Banking, or Financial Services domains
• Exposure to real-time trade processing systems (Middle Office / Post-trade)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring solutions
• Understanding of Event Sourcing and CQRS patterns
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
