Linux Support Engineer (Remote | Part-Time)

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will combine technical support responsibilities with Linux infrastructure administration tasks. Your day-to-day work will include assisting customers, troubleshooting issues, maintaining documentation, and supporting internal operational processes.

  • Delivering high-quality technical and customer support through chat and ticketing systems
  • Resolving the majority of support requests independently and efficiently
  • Investigating system alerts and infrastructure-related incidents
  • Creating and updating technical knowledge base articles and user documentation
  • Participating in internal quality assurance and testing activities
  • Supporting new customer onboarding and improving the early user experience
  • Identifying opportunities for process and service improvements
  • Tracking operational metrics and regularly reporting on assigned KPIs
  • Staying up to date with Linux technologies and industry best practices

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in Linux system administration and technical customer support
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with Linux-based operating systems such as Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience with virtualization platforms and containerized environments
  • Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools
  • Knowledge of Bash scripting and automation concepts

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with customer communication and hosting management platforms is considered an advantage but is not mandatory.
